Brent M. Bryant, Sr. was born in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was baptized at the age of 13 and began his work singing with his brother and sister. Early on he became the choir director for the Fifth Ward Baptist Church in Clarksville. After serving in the Air Force for eight years, he was licensed to preach the Gospel in 1979 at the Fifth Ward Baptist Church. After coming to San Antonio, he joined the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church and was ordained by the late Pastor L. H. Mills in 1984. He was the lead Pastor of the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church for five years before becoming the organizing and Lead Pastor of the Redeeming Grace Church, which began October 16, 1988. He was consecrated a Bishop in 2002 and is the Second Presiding Bishop of the Father’s House International Fellowship located in Houston, Texas, He served as moderator for the San Antonio Baptist Association from 2011-2013 and also served on the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
He is the loving husband and friend of First Lady Frances Bryant. Together they are the parents of nine children, fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
